Why pick jQuery when several sites have already covered it? To only be fair in comparison and to create a comparison between jQuery and other JavaScript libraries/toolkits. Plus I have a client needing work done and jQuery looks like the best fit.
First and foremost with any toolkit it is never a one-size fit all solution. You should also weigh the decision with the added load times associated with using a JavaScript library or toolkit. I.e. if your only using jQuery for a simple Ajax form and nothing else, then use just plain JavaScript. On the other hand if your wanting to have the entire site be Ajax with Dialog boxes that popup and Drop downs then a library/toolkit may be useful.
So to properly do a review in addition to my usual daily routine of college, subcontracting, and running my own business I will cover one topic per post. I will try to post at least twice a week, but once I get into it I may change the schedule.
So be looking forward to a introduction post in the next few days to get the series started. I look forward to this experience and I hope you will learn as much as I do.
